Solar and other renewable-energy solutions, water-treatment facilities, functional jetties, safe walkways, reliable communication systems and properly equipped health and educational facilities can significantly improve the quality of life.
Agge Market should also be developed into a modern commercial centre serving communities within Kou Kingdom and the surrounding coastal areas. Improved stalls, sanitation, storage facilities, electricity, clean water and transportation links would strengthen trade and expand opportunities for residents.

Agge needs a modern fishing harbour with safe jetties, fish-landing facilities, processing centres, cold storage, clean water, reliable electricity, boat-repair workshops and organised markets. These facilities would reduce post-harvest losses, improve the quality and value of fish products and create employment for young people and women.
The presence of Ilaje, Ghanaian and other fishing communities around Agge demonstrates the wider commercial importance of its waters. A properly organised fishing and marine hub could therefore serve people far beyond the immediate community.
Agge also has potential in boat building, marine transportation, aquaculture, coastal trading, warehousing, hospitality, maritime skills training and cold-chain logistics. These opportunities can grow only if the shoreline is first protected and the marine environment remains healthy.

Corporate responsibility should extend beyond occasional donations. It should include meaningful consultation, environmental responsibility, employment opportunities, skills development and measurable investment in education, healthcare, water, infrastructure and livelihoods.
Community agreements should be clear and accessible. Commitments should have timelines, and residents should be able to monitor whether those commitments are fulfilled. Trust will grow only when companies respect the environment and demonstrate that their operations contribute meaningfully to the welfare of the people.
Corporate responsibility, however, cannot replace government responsibility. Government must provide public infrastructure, enforce environmental standards and ensure that industrial activities do not destroy the foundations of community life.

The same government that recognises Aggeโs potential as a maritime gateway must also recognise its responsibility to protect the people and land that give the location its value.
Shoreline reclamation and protection should therefore be viewed not only as an ecological intervention but also as essential national economic infrastructure.

The community needs healthcare, education, water, electricity, communication, modern fishing facilities and investment. However, shoreline reclamation remains the most urgent priority because every development plan depends on securing the land.
The task is clear: protect the remaining shoreline, reclaim what can be recovered and provide Agge with a stable foundation for a sustainable future.
