Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-term partner, Georgina Rodríguez, reportedly signed a marriage contract keeping their pre-marital assets separate, just days before tying the knot in an intimate civil ceremony in Lisbon on Tuesday.
According to Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Notícias, the couple signed the agreement on August 10, a day before their reported wedding, at a public notary's office in Lisbon. The arrangement reportedly establishes separate ownership of their assets, meaning any properties and possessions acquired before the marriage will remain individually owned by each party rather than becoming joint property.
The wedding itself was said to have been a private affair, attended by the couple's children and four witnesses.
A copy of the couple's marriage certificate, published by Jornal de Notícias, also reportedly disclosed personal details about the pair, including Ronaldo's full name, age and birthplace, as well as the names of his parents. Georgina, 32, was listed as having been born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, while Ronaldo, 41, was identified as being from Madeira, Portugal.
The couple are also expected to retain their respective surnames following the marriage, with Georgina continuing to use Rodríguez rather than adopting Ronaldo's surname.
The civil ceremony was reportedly officiated by registrar Maria Manuel Ferreira de Campos Folhadela de Oliveira, who travelled from Porto to Cascais for the occasion.
Ronaldo and Georgina have been together for several years, with their relationship consistently drawing global attention given the footballer's profile and substantial wealth. The reported marriage contract provides a formal legal framework for how their respective assets would be treated, particularly should their marital circumstances change in the future.
