The Director-General of the Bayelsa State Centre for Youth Development, Deacon Robert Joel Igali, JP, has praised Governor Douye Diri for what he described as deliberate and strategic attention to the development of Bomo Clan, particularly Ward 12 in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.
Igali, a key political stakeholder in Ward 12, said the ongoing construction of the Government Technical College in Ofonibiri represents a major investment in education, skills development, and the long-term economic prosperity of the area's residents.
In a statement, he disclosed that 17 buildings at the project site have already been completed with POP ceilings, while fencing and sand-filling works remain ongoing. He described the project as a major legacy intervention gradually taking shape, one capable of opening up opportunities in technical education and skills acquisition for young people in the area.
Igali also commended the governor for the ongoing construction of the first road linking Angiama, Eniwari, and Ofonibiri, calling it a significant intervention that would open up the communities and boost economic activity in the area. He noted that the road would improve the movement of people and goods while creating new opportunities for commerce across the affected communities.
He stressed that the combined impact of both projects extended far beyond physical infrastructure, describing their significance as transformational for the communities involved.
Igali expressed appreciation to Governor Diri for remembering the people of Ward 12, stating that the projects had renewed the community's confidence in the future and would leave lasting benefits for both present and future generations.
